At Staffan Tollgard we believe that great design holds a story.
For contemporary lighting company Flos, each piece in their collection has its own anecdote or story providing the inspiration behind the design.
The Taraxacum 88 was designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1988 and is an update of his first Taraxacum that was created almost 30 years earlier.
The Taraxacum, which is the generic name for the dandelion flower, was inspired by the idea of creating a light source to replace the classic chandelier. The structure is formed by five pressed polished aluminium triangles with 15 clear Globolux lamps housed around the structure.
The chandelier has a very unique personality and is able to give great character to the environments in which it is inserted, like the flower of the dandelion, ready to fly away at the first gust of wind.
